  • Reviewed: E Major
  • Next Lesson: We will review one of the following scales at random: E Major, B Major, or F Major.

Sight Reading:
  • Implementing the scroll-and-point system.
  • Choose a piece at random and play it.

Piece: Czerny Exercise No. 4
  • Goal: Reduce stops (no increase in speed).
  • Current speed: Good, maintain it.

Piece: Sonatina by Beethoven
  • Focus: Unifying tempo.
  • Current: First four lines have a very nice tempo.
  • Goal: Last two lines should match the first four lines' tempo (160 BPM).

Piece: Duet
  • Goal: Learn the notes for the first page (second part).

Improvisation on tonal harmony

Today you played this improvisation in C Minor.

Play A minor broken chord A - E   C - A
​In C minor it would be C - G - Eb - C
Repeat it 4 times holding the pedal.
Then change just one of the notes to a consecutive note (next note) and repeat four times
Change another note and repeat four times

Left hand plays one note at a time, to accompany the melody from the right hand.
